These are free events.
Poets United
4 to 5 poets will be performing and the topic will be 'Fen, Folk and Folklore.'
The group has been running ten years and provided
many poetry performances at local events during that period (City Roots,
P'boro Festival, Flag Fen Eisteddfod, etc.) We regularly
perform at local pubs (Northfield, Palmerston Arms, etc. with
monthly slots at Charter's and the Glass Onion) but can also
deliver great family entertainment (we've performed at local schools and
colleges.) Several of our members are strongly influenced by the Folk and Roots
traditions and we include members of Pig Dyke Molly, several
Lincolnshire Folk Poet finalists and five Peterborough Poet
Laureates in our line-up.
Our poetry is varied as our members but always of high quality (all members are
published poets and active performers) and content is always tailored to suit
the audience: our focus is always to entertain rather than on 'high-brow'
poetry.
